At Bradford Early Education, we believe that children are on their own developmental journey and that children should be challenged based on their individual interests, needs and capabilities. We endeavor to prepare our children for their academic careers by using scientific principles and empirically supported methods. As a Bradford Early Education school, we teach from a unique and independent curriculum.
Your government contends that these changes are necessary because they will “increase access”. To the contrary, analyses by public entities and community service providers show that “new” infant rooms with a younger, narrower age range at a very high fee will close and that there will be severe financial and practical effects that affect service viability across age groups.
Currently 1 OPENING - ages 16 months through school aged! A native of Denver, I have provided licensed child care in my home since 1980. I have excellent references. I serve nutritious, high quality, home cooked meals. I offer an atmosphere where learning can take place in an easy, fun environment. There are plenty of outdoor experiences. Activities include daily story time and a Christian based preschool program. In the summer, children ages 3 and up may take daily swimming lessons offered through Parks and Recreation, usually for a period of 9 weeks, Monday - Thursday. Lessons are parent paid. Thank you.
An otoacoustic emission (OAE) is a sound which is generated from within the inner ear. Having been predicted by Thomas Gold in 1948, its existence was first demonstrated experimentally by David Kemp in 1978[1] and otoacoustic emissions have since been shown to arise through a number of different cellular and mechanical causes within the inner ear.[2][3] Studies have shown that OAEs disappear after the inner ear has been damaged, so OAEs are often used in the laboratory and the clinic as a measure of inner ear health.

In the absence of external stimulation, the activity of the cochlear amplifier increases, leading to the production of sound. Several lines of evidence suggest that, in mammals, outer hair cells are the elements that enhance cochlear sensitivity and frequency selectivity and hence act as the energy sources for amplification. One theory is that they act to increase the discriminability of signal variations in continuous noise by lowering the masking effect of its cochlear amplification.[4]

I must admit I am surprised that with the concept of Nourishing Traditions being about adopting traditional methods of preparing foods as observed in ultra-healthy non-western people groups, I expected the book on baby and child care to promote more traditional and indigenous ways of nurturing (not just nourishing) little ones, such as babywearing and co-sleeping. I guess we always have The Continuum Concept by Jean Liedloff for that!
Our dedicated teachers encourage students to be active and creative explorers, as well as independent, self-confident learners. In fact, at Cadence Academy Preschool, Smoky Hill, every student is treated as an individual and able to progress at his or her natural ability while still reaching desired age-level goals. At Bright Stars Child care and Preschool we provide many facilities to make your childcare needs easier and more convenient.  These include handling you Colorado Childcare Assistance Program (CCAP) paperwork, working with the Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP) and for you convenience we are preregistered with the following counties and provide enrollment facility for them:
​​"Miss Laura's" has been a wonderful second home for my daughter Helena.  Helena was undergoing a rough transition this year, it being the first year she was to be cared for without big sis right by her side.  Laura has made her home feel like a second home for Helena, and she makes nutrition important for the kids which I really like.  She also follows whatever requests nutritionally that I have, and she is super careful.  Helena's big sis has a severe peanut allergy, so Laura makes sure Helena never eats peanuts because she doesn't want to risk a problem when the two girls play in the afternoon.  And I Didn't even have to ask her to do that!! That's great!  Helena is really transitioning well and I think that is because of how Laura is helping it to feel like another home. My older daughter even constantly wants to stay with"Miss Laura." - Laura
My whole life has been dedicated to the care of little ones. From helping my mother when I was young with her own in home daycare, to my first babysitting jobs. I then had the opportunity to be nanny to two wonderful girls ages 3 yrs. and 4 months for about 3 years. Then, I had them pleasure of spending 3 months in Romania working with an organization called Caminul Felix. They are essentially an orphanage but rather than caring for the children until they come of age, they give them homes and families for life. There I worked with many children befriending them, teaching crafts and helping with their English. Now I have started a family of my own and desire to have my own in home daycare. Doing as my mother did before me, caring for little ones and helping fellow mothers with trustworthy and affordable childcare. P. S. I am also more than happy to take care of any four-legged, furry family members.
- Promotion of the time-out technique for dealing with inappropriate behaviour (p173). I've worked with enough children in my career and read enough literature on child behaviour and development to know that time-out is an ineffective, overused and misunderstood tool that adults resort to when they have no clue otherwise how to deal with their child's actions (thank you Super Nanny). In many cases it's the parents who need time out from the situation to cool down and gather their composure. I'm not about to tell anyone how to parent, but I will say that when a child is sent to time-out to 'think about their behaviour', you can be guaranteed they're thinking of anything BUT that.

Our unique programs are based upon years of research and early childhood education experience and that is why we pride ourselves in offering both excellent academic programming as well as a variety of enrichment programs all free of charge to our children. Our schools are divided into classrooms based on age and development beginning with our state-of-the-art infant room, Little Angels for ages 6 weeks to 12 months. From there, children advance into our Transition Room - Teddy Bears ages 12 months to 18 months, Toddlers 1 - Rainbows ages 18 months to 2 years, Toddlers 2 - Sunshine ages 2 to 3 years, Preschool - Flowers ages 3 to 4 years, and Pre-K - Stars ages 4 to 5 years.

I have raised four children and was blessed to be a stay-at-home mother, home-schooled all four through 8th grade. My youngest is in high school and the other three attend college and/or have professional jobs. I thoroughly enjoy working with children in developing cognitive skills and/or loving precious babies. I took care of my parents until their death four years ago. My husband and I have been happily married for 26 years, attend church weekly, and live in Saddle Rock Ranches. I have extra time during the day and would love to help parents with their children, aging parents and pets! If you need a sitter, one time or regularly, while you shop, work out, run errands, etc., please give me a call!
Otoacoustic emissions are clinically important because they are the basis of a simple, non-invasive test for hearing defects in newborn babies and in children who are too young to cooperate in conventional hearing tests. Many western countries now have national programmes for the universal hearing screening of newborn babies. Periodic early childhood hearing screenings program are also utilizing OAE technology. One excellent example has been demonstrated by the Early Childhood Hearing Outreach Initiative at the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM) at Utah State University, which has helped hundreds of Early Head Start programs across the United States implement OAE screening and follow-up practices in those early childhood educational settings.[8][9][10] The primary screening tool is a test for the presence of a click-evoked OAE. Otoacoustic emissions also assist in differential diagnosis of cochlear and higher level hearing losses (e.g., auditory neuropathy).
