Spontaneous otoacoustic emissions (SOAE)s are sounds that are emitted from the ear without external stimulation and are measurable with sensitive microphones in the external ear canal. At least one SOAE can be detected in approx. 35-50% of the population. The sounds are frequency-stable between 500 Hz and 4500 Hz to have unstable volumes between -30 dB SPL and +10 dB SPL. The majority of the people are unaware of their SOAEs; portions of 1-9% however perceive a SOAE as an annoying tinnitus.[5]

There is a lot to like about The Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby and Child Care by Sally Fallon Morrell and Thomas S Cowan. Some of it is exceptionally well-researched (other things I thought were a little sketchy or questionable, see further below). I could never list all the awesome things the book discusses, but some of the highlights for me include:
When I graduate in June 2016, I will officially be an ECE. Throughout my studies, discussions of low recognition of ECEs, no National Framework, low wages for ECEs, etc have been hot topics. Learning that there is such a lack of help for ECEs is alarming, especially for someone fresh out of school in hopes of having this as a career, a way to provide for a family. Looking into a National Framework in the 2017-2018 budget is not helping families, ECEs, etc who need help NOW. Now is the time to make a difference for the future. Doing something in the future doesn’t help with the problems we face now.

It is NOT a different type of license or a substitute for licensing or accreditation. The intent of the Qualistar Rating™ is to give licensed programs a measurement of quality, by star levels, and recommendations on how to improve the quality of the care they provide. Accreditation by a national accrediting agency is a separate process that has its own set of standards and validation system.
 Atlas Children's Academy is an early childhood education center that opens the world to  children of all backgrounds. Our unique  program builds community, provides strong academics and supports the growth of the whole child.  We are a licensed childcare provider that offers a wide range of activities that are fun and educational for age group 6 weeks to 12 years of age. 

I am a stay-at-home mom and have a 7-year-old son. I have been caring for other children for 9 years now. I am very flexible with scheduling, I enjoy watching other children, along with my son, so he can have some interaction with others, which is very important to me. I can come to your home, or your child(ren) could come to mine, whichever you're more comfortable with. I do not smoke and I have my own transportation, also am just fine with pets! I have no specific rate, it just depends on what works for the parents of the child(ren), I am caring for. It's usually between $9 to $12/hour.
We are here to help provide parents with peace of mind that their little one(s) are being cared for in a nurturing, warm and secure environment. Our management team, teachers and assistants follow strict guidelines, meet all state certification requirements and are First Aid and CPR certified. Consistent evaluations help maintain our center's high standard of excellence and team members are encouraged to participate in sponsored continuing education programs.

All personal items must be labeled. All staff are CPR/AED/1st Aid certified and have childcare experience. Children will be released only to those individuals who initially dropped them off. Individuals must be 18 years old to pick up a child from the nursery. You are welcome to bring a small snack, however we do not allow any peanut products of any kind. No snacks are provided by staff. Please no sick children
My son has a speech delay and is in daycare to help socialize him withother children as well as the rece’s are able to help him in ways I don’t know how as a first time parent this is a last resort as I’ve tried speech pathologist among other options this one is finally beginniNing to show some progress with these proposed changel to ratios this will be impossible young children will no longer get the necessary one on one time or quality educational curriculum also with the proposed age grouping changes many daycare facilities won’t offer infant care due to safety issues infants learning to walk put in with toddlers who are carelessly running around and in their hitting and biting phases PKEASE DO NOT GO THROUGH WITH THESE CHANGES. ~vienna Johnstone, concerned parent windsor Ontario
I am a stay-at-home mom of a 4-year-old boy and 1. 5-year-old boy. I am looking for an infant/toddler to watch in our home, in addition to my own boys. We are a smoke-free home and have a friendly Shih tzu dog who has been a part of our family since before my 1st son was born. I have 16 years of child care experience and have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I have open availability during the week and am also available on nights and weekends too! I am very flexible when it comes to drop off and pick up times. I would love to be able to watch your child, teach them and allow them to grow and develop. Activities throughout the day will meet your child's physical, emotional and social needs. I would love the opportunity to help out your family in caring for your child.

“I put both of my kids in TLE when it opened and they have been doing great. My son is in first grade now and he was ahead of the game all through kindergarten and is continuing to do well. My daughter has been learning a lot while being there as well. It is not uncommon for her to see words here and there that she recognizes or doing some addition or subtraction without her even realizing it. ”
Our dedicated teachers encourage students to be active and creative explorers, as well as independent, self-confident learners. In fact, at Cadence Academy Preschool, Smoky Hill, every student is treated as an individual and able to progress at his or her natural ability while still reaching desired age-level goals. In addition to core curriculum offered for preschool and Pre-Kindergarten children, we provide before and after care for school-age children.

I must admit I am surprised that with the concept of Nourishing Traditions being about adopting traditional methods of preparing foods as observed in ultra-healthy non-western people groups, I expected the book on baby and child care to promote more traditional and indigenous ways of nurturing (not just nourishing) little ones, such as babywearing and co-sleeping. I guess we always have The Continuum Concept by Jean Liedloff for that!
​​"Miss Laura's" has been a wonderful second home for my daughter Helena.  Helena was undergoing a rough transition this year, it being the first year she was to be cared for without big sis right by her side.  Laura has made her home feel like a second home for Helena, and she makes nutrition important for the kids which I really like.  She also follows whatever requests nutritionally that I have, and she is super careful.  Helena's big sis has a severe peanut allergy, so Laura makes sure Helena never eats peanuts because she doesn't want to risk a problem when the two girls play in the afternoon.  And I Didn't even have to ask her to do that!! That's great!  Helena is really transitioning well and I think that is because of how Laura is helping it to feel like another home. My older daughter even constantly wants to stay with"Miss Laura." - Laura
