My licensed home childcare will incorporate the experience and knowledge I have gained while working 13 years as a preschool teacher most of which was at a NAEYC accredited 4 Star Qualistar rated program. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I have a fenced in backyard and there is a park nearby. I absolutely LOVE spending my days watching children learn, grow, and experience the world around them, to me there is no other job as rewarding!
Perhaps the first sign that this book would be a let down were the typos throughout the pages (such as "hunbands" for husbands p 211, "sores" for scores p 104). The carelessness of the authors was reflected in the poor quality of the content and its presentation. This book lacked a coherent voice, and others have noted the contradictory statements found throughout its pages.
I am Melonie & LOVE children of all ages. Each phase has something exciting & wonderful to offer. Stay-at-home mom for 20 years, I raised 4 amazing sons. Volunteered in school, church & cub scouts, many leadership positions, taught parenting classes. Arts & Crafts Junior High School Teacher, worked in mental health. Taking care of your children & making a positive impact in their lives would be very rewarding for me. My attributes are reliable, dependable, honest, hardworking, loving, gentle, kind, nurturing, passionate, organized & multi-tasking. Helping children to become self-confident, loving & caring people, as they learn how they fit in this big world, is very exciting for me. I look forward to sharing what I have to offer to you as a nanny. I am considered to be a Professional Nanny Manager as I plan meals, grocery shop, prepare and serve meals, do laundry and ironing as well as care for the children. Basically I manage the household to help keep it running smoothly.

Has your child ever begged you not to leave the dentist? Impossible you say? Not at our office. It could be our gentle touch and special way with kids. Our pediatric specialists and staff love children and are specially trained to put them at ease. At Lil Teeth Dentistry, we teach your children the proper way to take care of their teeth and just as important, they learn that going to the dentist can be fun.

- Promotion of the time-out technique for dealing with inappropriate behaviour (p173). I've worked with enough children in my career and read enough literature on child behaviour and development to know that time-out is an ineffective, overused and misunderstood tool that adults resort to when they have no clue otherwise how to deal with their child's actions (thank you Super Nanny). In many cases it's the parents who need time out from the situation to cool down and gather their composure. I'm not about to tell anyone how to parent, but I will say that when a child is sent to time-out to 'think about their behaviour', you can be guaranteed they're thinking of anything BUT that.

Sheila was always very warm with my son, and very happy to see us everyday! Her house is beautiful, clean, and safe. (Her husband goes on hunting trips - it's okay, but I wished I knew that before I enrolled my son there -, but I guess the guns are locked away.) I felt good about leaving my son there. He never complained. If you want a place where your kid can play with other kids and interact with a kind adult, I highly recommend Angel Camp!

The benefits of high quality early learning experiences for children appeal to both early childhood programs and families. By participating in the Qualistar Rating™ programs receive a detailed Quality Performance Profile© (QPP) that includes strengths and areas for improvement specific to their program and classrooms. Families benefit by accessing the program’s Quality Rating Report and by gaining an understanding of the components contributing to quality early learning experiences. This helps parents make more informed choices on the type of care they would like for their child.

We recognize that there are good reasons to make changes in early childhood education and care (ECEC) in Ontario.  But we believe that these must be based on the best available evidence about what is of most benefit to children and families; we argue that these proposed changes are not. Additionally, we suggest that changes in ECEC in Ontario will continue to have negative effects if they continue to be “piecemeal”.

Hi!! I'm Michelle!!! I have my Bachelors Degree (BA) in Early Childhood Development. I graduated in 2009. My husband and I have 3 children all who attend school. I homeschooled them prior to attending public school. I've served and taught at every age level in Children's Ministry for the past 13 years. I have also been a nanny to a sweet baby boy for the last two years. Due to relocation, I had to say goodbye to him. Children are truly my joy, and bring so much light to my life. I especially enjoy caring for newborns-toddlers. There is something so special about that age group. I hope that you will consider me when choosing a Nanny. I will always care for your child as if they were my own. If you allow me to watch your child in my home, I'll be available all day, and on weekends. But if you choose to have me watch them in your home, I am only available from 8 to 2. Blessings, Michelle.

In high school I was involved with sports (softball, basketball, track) was FFA vice president, and a member of the National Honor Society. After high school I received an athletic scholarship to play softball. While in college I started a physical education program at a local Lutheran Church School. The people and the children became family to me and I was offered a part time teaching assistant job working with the kindergarten class. During the summers of college I spent my time coaching softball to young girls. Over my four years of coaching we won four state titles, four regional titles, three Nationals appearances as well as an invitation to the Babe Ruth Little League World Series.
