Hi!! I'm Michelle!!! I have my Bachelors Degree (BA) in Early Childhood Development. I graduated in 2009. My husband and I have 3 children all who attend school. I homeschooled them prior to attending public school. I've served and taught at every age level in Children's Ministry for the past 13 years. I have also been a nanny to a sweet baby boy for the last two years. Due to relocation, I had to say goodbye to him. Children are truly my joy, and bring so much light to my life. I especially enjoy caring for newborns-toddlers. There is something so special about that age group. I hope that you will consider me when choosing a Nanny. I will always care for your child as if they were my own. If you allow me to watch your child in my home, I'll be available all day, and on weekends. ​​"Miss Laura's" has been a wonderful second home for my daughter Helena.  Helena was undergoing a rough transition this year, it being the first year she was to be cared for without big sis right by her side.  Laura has made her home feel like a second home for Helena, and she makes nutrition important for the kids which I really like.  She also follows whatever requests nutritionally that I have, and she is super careful.  Helena's big sis has a severe peanut allergy, so Laura makes sure Helena never eats peanuts because she doesn't want to risk a problem when the two girls play in the afternoon.  And I Didn't even have to ask her to do that!! That's great!  Helena is really transitioning well and I think that is because of how Laura is helping it to feel like another home. My older daughter even constantly wants to stay with"Miss Laura." - Laura
Sheila was always very warm with my son, and very happy to see us everyday! Her house is beautiful, clean, and safe. (Her husband goes on hunting trips - it's okay, but I wished I knew that before I enrolled my son there -, but I guess the guns are locked away.) I felt good about leaving my son there. He never complained. If you want a place where your kid can play with other kids and interact with a kind adult, I highly recommend Angel Camp!
To me, this is the most important resource to have for raising healthy children. I am pregnant with my 2nd child and follow the extremely nutrient dense pregnancy diet from this book. I’ve also followed the food introduction schedule for my first born (3 yo now) to ensure he grows up loving and eating REAL FOOD- not crap food laced with sugar and chemicals like cereal, processed/boxed/bagged “foods”, juice, waffles, artificially colored anything, pizza, etc which gives children zero vitamins and nutrition. My son eats and loves broccoli, salmon, chicken, eggs, fruits, beans, nuts, cod liver oil, avocados, coconut oil, bone broth soups...all because of what I’ve read in this wonderful book. I truly believe because he has grown up on these nutrient dense foods and healthy fats like CLO, coconut oil and real butter, his memory is astounding (brains REQUIRE fats to function optimally!). I am constantly referring to it not just for diet, but for alternative cures for childhood sickness, how to make your home as healthy as possible, baby and child care, vaccines, supplementation, child milestones, recipes, to name a few. If you want to have a truly healthy pregnancy and child, this is the book to follow.

There is a lot to like about The Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby and Child Care by Sally Fallon Morrell and Thomas S Cowan. Some of it is exceptionally well-researched (other things I thought were a little sketchy or questionable, see further below). I could never list all the awesome things the book discusses, but some of the highlights for me include:
Perhaps the first sign that this book would be a let down were the typos throughout the pages (such as "hunbands" for husbands p 211, "sores" for scores p 104). The carelessness of the authors was reflected in the poor quality of the content and its presentation. This book lacked a coherent voice, and others have noted the contradictory statements found throughout its pages.
- A suggestion that it is not necessary to consume large amounts of water before and during pregnancy (p35). Apparently, the best way to hydrate your body is to 'consume plenty of healthy fats, because fats provide the most energy on the cellular level - much more than carbohydrates and proteins, and the by product of this energy is water'. I don't know enough about this matter to comment further at this stage, but I find it strange that drinking water would be discouraged.
The relationships between otoacoustic emissions and tinnitus have been explored. Several studies suggest that in about 6% to 12% of normal-hearing persons with tinnitus and SOAEs, the SOAEs are at least partly responsible for the tinnitus.[11] Studies have found that some subjects with tinnitus display oscillating or ringing EOAEs, and in these cases, it is hypothesized that the oscillating EOAEs and tinnitus are related to a common underlying pathology rather than the emissions being the source of the tinnitus.[11]
My son has a speech delay and is in daycare to help socialize him withother children as well as the rece’s are able to help him in ways I don’t know how as a first time parent this is a last resort as I’ve tried speech pathologist among other options this one is finally beginniNing to show some progress with these proposed changel to ratios this will be impossible young children will no longer get the necessary one on one time or quality educational curriculum also with the proposed age grouping changes many daycare facilities won’t offer infant care due to safety issues infants learning to walk put in with toddlers who are carelessly running around and in their hitting and biting phases PKEASE DO NOT GO THROUGH WITH THESE CHANGES. ~vienna Johnstone, concerned parent windsor Ontario
